Five Minutes of Awareness for Beginners

Beginning practice does not need to be long. For five minutes, notice the body, breath, and mind in order.
Beginning meditation is not about making a perfect mind. It is about noticing the body, breath, and thoughts with kindness.
- Sit comfortably and relax the shoulders.
- Notice the body touching the chair or floor.
- Watch three natural breaths.
- When thoughts appear, notice them and return to breathing.
- End by sending a gentle wish to one person you will meet today.
