I fear thy kisses, gentle maiden,
Thou needest not fear mine;
My spirit is too deeply laden
Ever to burthen thine.
II.
I fear thy mien, thy tones, thy motion,
Thou needest not fear mine;
Innocent is the heart's devotion
With which I worship thine.

나는 너의 입맞춤이 두렵다, 부드러운 처녀여.
너는 나의 입맞춤을 두려워할 필요 없다.
내 영혼은 너무 깊이 짐을 져
결코 네 영혼을 무겁게 하지 못하리니.
