그대를 여름날에 비길까?
그대는 더 사랑스럽고 더 온화하다.
거친 바람은 오월의 귀한 꽃눈을 흔들고,
여름의 임대 기간은 너무도 짧다.
때로 하늘의 눈은 지나치게 뜨겁게 빛나고,
그 황금 얼굴도 자주 흐려진다.
아름다운 것은 언젠가 아름다움에서 기울고,
우연이나 자연의 변하는 길에 손질을 잃는다.
그러나 그대의 영원한 여름은 시들지 않고,
그대가 지닌 아름다움도 잃지 않으리라.
죽음도 그대가 제 그늘을 헤맨다고 자랑하지 못하리라,
영원한 행들 속에서 그대가 시간과 함께 자라날 때.
사람들이 숨 쉬고 눈이 볼 수 있는 한,
이 시는 살고, 이 시가 그대에게 생명을 주리라.

Shall I compare thee to a summer's day?
Thou art more lovely and more temperate:
Rough winds do shake the darling buds of May,
And summer's lease hath all too short a date:
Sometime too hot the eye of heaven shines,
And often is his gold complexion dimm'd;
And every fair from fair sometime declines,
By chance or nature's changing course untrimm'd;
But thy eternal summer shall not fade,
Nor lose possession of that fair thou owest;
Nor shall Death brag thou wander'st in his shade,
When in eternal lines to time thou grow'st:
So long as men can breathe, or eyes can see,
So long lives this, and this gives life to thee.
